Built in Brooklyn. Reimagined in Sydney.

About

Fourth St. Productions is a Sydney-based film production and development company creating bold, emotionally resonant cinema from distinct perspectives.

Founded by filmmaker Katy-May Hudson, Fourth Street is a dedicated home for original screen work and thoughtful creative collaboration. Drawing on more than a decade of experience across Australia and the US, the company supports projects from early development through production.

Our Story

Fourth St. Productions marks a new chapter in a creative practice that began in Brooklyn more than a decade ago.

In 2013, Katy-May founded She Said Productions in New York, producing and supporting work across film, theatre, performance, education and cultural programming. Its projects and collaborations included the Brooklyn Women’s Film Festival, YouTube, New York Women in Film & Television, the New York Neo-Futurists and Women & Hollywood.

After returning to Australia, Katy-May established Fourth St. Productions in Sydney as a dedicated home for film and television work. Fourth Street carries forward She Said’s commitment to distinct voices, creative community and ambitious collaboration while bringing that experience into a more focused screen practice.

She Said Productions remains Katy-May’s US-based company and part of the wider creative practice from which Fourth Street has grown.

Our Values

Distinct Perspectives

We are drawn to stories shaped by a particular point of view- work that embraces complexity and resists reducing people to familiar types.

Emotional Truth

Whether grounded, playful or surreal, our work begins with recognisable human experience. We pursue complicated characters and meaningful questions rather than easy answers.

Care and Sustainability

Creative ambition should not depend on exhaustion or exclusion. We seek ways of working that respect caregiving, disability and the different lives, bodies and minds people bring to the creative process.
